CBP to Start SENTRI Program at San Luis POE

Zealous travelers from the San Luis area may soon participate in the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP) trusted travelers program the Secure Electronic Network for Travelers Rapid Inspection (SENTRI). To facilitate users, CBP will open local enrollment center in the fall of 2009, followed by dedicated commuter lanes at the San Luis port of entry in late 2009. Further, travelers interested in participating in the program are encouraged to apply early for the new program by visiting the SENTRI Website. Since, the application process takes approximately six to eight weeks to complete. Under the program, members are required to pay $122.25 as membership fees to get access to the dedicated vehicles lanes for five years. SENTRI gives quick crossing between the U.S. and Mexico border and members also receive an enhanced Radio Frequency Identification card that comply Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative travel documents requirement.
