DHS Grant Funds Securing Charleston Port

October 26, 2009 – 2:50 pm

U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham joined the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division Chief Reggie Lloyd and other federal, state and local officials to announce the government’s funding of project SeaHawk. “SeaHawk represents a critical partnership between federal, state and local law enforcement partners to share information and coordinate response.” said Secretary Napolitano.  The project will stay alive thanks to an $800,000 grant from the Department of Homeland Security. SeaHawk, created in 2003, brings together representatives of state, federal and local law enforcement agencies who meet each day in a command center to share and compare information on activity in Charleston Harbor.
