Finally – a voice of reason

Max Boot, a senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations, a contributing editor to Opinion and the author of “War Made New: Weapons, Warriors, and the Making of the Modern World,” wrote a wonderful piece in the LA Times summarizing the reasons why the Republican party as well as non-Republican, but anti-immigrant advocates should re-think their position.  He points out that many of the anti-immigrant arguments are based on false-logic or on facts that are simply wrong.  The interesting part of this article is that Mr. Boot is a Republican himself, which just proves the point that the issue of immigration is not limited by party lines.  Instead, I would argue that the anti-immigrant sentiment is a position based on unreasonable fear and misinformation.

So as Mr. Boot points out — Immigrants are a boon, not a curse to our society.
