Texas Governor calls Congress “immature” and I agree
August 28, 2007 – 5:18 pmDuring a speech he made while on a trade mission to Mexico, Texas Governor Perry said that it’s time to stop the bickering about immigration in Congress and really “discuss it and cut out all of the mean rhetoric and really talk about what is a solution to this issue.” He went on to suggest that there should be a “free flow of individuals between these two countries [Mexico and U.S.] who want to work and want to be an asset to our country and to Mexico.” At the same time he insisted that it is important that U.S. is able to track individuals in this country who are not citizens by submitting incoming persons to a “foolproof biometric system.”
Finally he also criticized the idea of building a 1,200 mile wall between Mexico and United States:
But the idea that you’re going to build a 1,200-mile wall … is idiocy. It absolutely would not work. If you build a 40-foot wall, then the 42-foot ladder industry takes off.
Well, I guess the day I thought would never come has arrived and I am forced to say the following words: I agree with the Governor from Texas. And because I have a gut feeling that calling Congressional rhetoric “idiocy” is not going to change a thing in Washington, I urge everyone to visit the American Ladder Institute website to find the companies that will surely represent a worthwhile investment in a very near future.
