USCIS Provides Answers to National Stakeholders’ Questions
November 24, 2009 – 8:45 am
In a National Stakeholder Meeting held on June 30, 2009 at Tomic Conference Center, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) have answered wide-ranging questions from the stakeholders.
While answering to a question, USCIS said that it had met all milestones set forth in its joint business plan with Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), resulting in the elimination of the FBI National Name Check Program (NNCP) backlog. In response to a query as to whether USCIS have any statistics on how many people win the diversity lottery and are unable to adjust within the fiscal year, USCIS replied that is the Department of State (DOS) that tracks unused diversity (DV) visa numbers each fiscal year. Figures for DV visa usage and adjustments of status for fiscal years 1999 through 2008 can be found at the following DOS website: http://www.travel.state.gov/pdf/FY08-AR-TableVII.pdf.
