Caryn Wagner to be next U.S. Homeland Security’s Undersecretary for Intelligence and Analysis

Friday, President Barack Obama announced his intent to nominate Caryn Wagner to be the Homeland Security Department’s undersecretary for Intelligence and Analysis (I&A). As undersecretary for I&A, Wagner would lead DHS’ involvement in state and local intelligence fusion centers and management of classified information systems security. She would also serve as DHS’ primary point of contact to the intelligence community. Wagner currently serves as senior faculty at the Intelligence Security Academy, an organization that provides training in intelligence community and resource management to the U.S. government. Previously she held various senior government jobs. Wagner has a bachelor’s degree from the College of William and Mary in Virginia and a master’s degree in systems management from the University of Southern California.
