VWP Travelers Should Complete Online Travel Authorization: CBP Reminder

January 21, 2010 – 4:13 am

estaThe U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has issued a reminder to U.S. bound travelers from Visa Waiver Program (VWP) countries to comply with Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) requirement. CBP plans to initiate a 60-day transition to enforced ESTA compliance for air carriers and says VWP travelers may not be allowed to board a U.S.-bound plane without an approved ESTA.

Completing its one year, ESTA is an electronic travel authorization that all citizens of VWP countries must obtain prior to boarding a carrier to travel by air or sea to the U.S. under the VWP.
